My sympathies to the family and friends. I had swapped emails on occasion. No question about his talent. Watching the build on the wagon and seeing his house was very impressive. R.I.P.

This bums me out. Didn't know the guy personally but I read a lot of his postings and it seems like he really was a builder and not just a BSer. The wagon is neat.

 

I never met Chaz but I looked forward to seeing him post. He did awesome work and he had a great sense of humor. He will be truly missed. My deepest condolences to all of his family and friends.

Godspeed Chaz! I hope to see you on the other side.

I’m sorry to hear this. I’m local and I first heard about him in the early 90’s when he was creating the Carousel for Missoula when I was still in middle school. I remember seeing the first carved horse at the mall during a fundraiser campaign. I thought that a guy who created that must be pretty cool. Years later, I figured out that Chaz on the H.A.M.B. was the same guy. I’d always hoped to meet the man, but the closest I ever got was seeing a Strange Days logoed truck leaving the dump last summer as I drove in. He contributed greatly to the rebirth of our riverfront park in this little Montana city and will be remembered. RIP.
