Taboo had a set of the diamonds in the car before the 60 Chrysler's were grafted in.

  5. This popped up for sale on Facebook classic rides for sale or trade today. I don't know anything about the car, and I only posted it because of the taillights.

I'm wondering. Could you buy the car, remove the taillights. Sell the car and get your money back or better yet, make money and get the taillights for free? Ya got me thinking...... Lol!

Has anyone done an install on a 55/56 merc like this? I have a set on order and it looks like the lens covers part of the tail light housing. Wondering if I need to cut it or if they come apart???

Probably not real Hamb friendly but since it was mentioned in the beginning of the thread that it was not easy to see the brake lights during the day my plan is to take the Red led strips out of a 2021 taillight I have from an OT car and fit it inside the lee lenses so they are brighter but still look custom/stock from the outside.

After 2 recent accidents I don't want anymore. Ha

  18. 56MercMan, the two dents in the rear bumper look like they could have been from a cops push bar, Shades of The California Kid.

Ha. Well my dad was known to run and was very well known by the sheriff's in our small town (he was wild). I know 100% they were not there when he first got the car. You have a decent chance if being correct.

I made an aluminun backing plate with a steel u shaped hinge bolted to it that goes in the original taillight housing so it swivels like the original. The cars is at a friends so I'll take a photo when I'm there.

Thanks… I figured you unlatched it inside and it fell open on the original hinge …58 top “vent” is a nice addition on a custom..
