This is my EELCO treasure find; the dash that Ed Roth used in Mysterion. I stumbled on it on an Ebay search and was thrilled. I had no idea what he had used and I snapped it up for my Mysterion clone. Ed's dash My Ebay find
Okay, thanks . I beg to differ on it being an “off brand and I have yet to see one of these for sale eBay. It has to be somewhat a high quality brand as the area filled with a black glass is machined with the flags raised. Solid and heavy stainless . I don’t think an off brand would have that much detail work.I guess I will have to keep searching ....
Just to clarify for anybody seeing this thread the black is glass and the flags are machined as is all areas that are filled with the glass. Not a decal . Hoping someone on here has a advertisement .
I have been giving this some deep thought , and there is probably no way it is an Eelco or any assembly line production brand because the cost in time of machining and detail and material your not going to sell this anywhere near the cost that an Hurst or Eelco could be sold to the public.
@curbspeed. The ones you are looking at on eBay isn’t this one by a long , long , long shot. But I do agree those on eBay are some off brand looking ones. Maybe mine is a one of custom piece or off a higher end car . I don’t know , but I figured this was a good place to start.
Amco brand is what you have. I have looked at them numerous time in the past on Ebay. I have seen that same one you have in fact. I'm almost positive it is Amco. In fact, there is one exactly like yours on there now. Here is the link if you doubt me.https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-AMCO-V...551587&hash=item594a201f3b:g:ZrkAAOSwrldcv3FY
Probably a million of these floating around but I thought I would share anyway. I got this in the '60's sometime to use on my flatty with 3 - 97's. Decided it had too many "holes". Just tossed it in the "collection".
Just wondering if anyone else has more Eelco? Recently saw on EBay two like mine and are listed as Eelco? One was asking $699.00 .
Not really Eelco, but I found it at an estate sale this morning. I already know it has too many toes, but I thought it was a cool footstool.
I've had an old Eelco aluminum tank for years. Bought it to put on my gasser, but even a 2 gal. tank was too big looking for the front of my tiny Austin. So it's still sitting here. Was going to buy a pair of Richies tank brackets, but never did.
I have this Eelco hand pressure pump, but I'm looking to replace the rubber on the plunger. It has a funky tapered shape to it. Does anyone know if this type of rubber ring has a special name or where I could buy a replacement? I don't even know what to type in to Google it.
Thanks for the enlightenment. Of course I can't find the original piece to get measurements from & thickness, etc. So, I'm thinking of getting a rather thick piece of hide & cutting out a circle maybe 3/8" wider that the inside of the cylinders so that when the pump is actuated, the leather will create the suction necessary to pump air?
Mine was the same. I soak it in oil, flipped it over and put it back in. Before, zero pressure. Works great now.
