There is more than one way to skin a cat...I guess!
Whoever posted the Model A should get a bunch of demerits, have to sit in a corner for 15 minutes, and given a timeout, though!

Still have it, it has a 440 mopar. 727 torkflite trans. manual valve body, 9" convertor,. I live near St. Louis. I drove it to las Vegas with a bunch of other older hot rod guys ,back in 1976. been to Daytona beach twice when i was much younger. Now I'm gonna be 60(!) this year. still have fun with it.

    Hello,

One of my favorite T-Bucket Roadsters was the Tommy Ivo Roadster and the Grabowski (77 Sunset Strip) Roadster. But, they were out of reach and beyond the two brothers making plastic models as well as we could with our custom touches.

But many years later, thoughts always went back to a T-Roadster. We thought of making one after our Willys Coupe incident. It would be another dual-purpose roadster. The street roadster class was going through some changes, similar in lax rules for Gas Coupe/Sedan racing, too.

So, it would be a challenge to try and stick to that category. Any slight modification would automatically send the roadster into the Modified Roadster class… which was changing into its own “Altered Roadster Class.”

    upload_2021-6-17_3-13-27.png
Items to include: Individual headers for the Modified Roadster Class and a 4 into one tube header/muffler system for the street. A competition roll bar for safety, but two bucket seats inside for the two brothers or friends. A large Moon Tank in the short pickup bed and slide in nerf bumpers after the competition events were over, etc.

    Jnaki

There would be some changes if we wanted to drive on the street. But, it would not be a complete rebuild, but additional legal items, license, headlights/brake lights, etc.

Saw a pikky of this from one of the earlier Petersen Street Rod Nats, annuals and figured it was how a bucket should look. Some years later I saw an article in a magazine explaining how the blower was fake and pretty much fooled everyone who saw it.

When was this picture taken? Can you imagine what this must have looked like in the time period that pic must have been taken? That's some seriously wild looking shit for it's time.

    Not a bucket, I know.

This one was my first experience with anything hot rod over 30 years ago. Belonged to a friend of my dad. Dad had it for a little bit and I'll always remember rides to school in it. Somehow it stayed around after dad's buddy died and I saw it for sale near our farm. I always had more of a track T in mind to build (I will absolutely NEVER have the time to do that ever again), but my dad and some of his colorful buddies were a big influence on me growing up, so I had to have it.

If you squint right, it isn't far from some kind of 60s style, but it was likely built in '82 and bought by by Dad's buddy at the '87 Street Rod Nats. Pretty interesting, archaeologically, to see how it was done, as it is about 95% a period "survivor," just a hair more recent than most of us prefer. Being a wood bodied truck is admittedly a little different, but since the majority of Ts are fiberglass "interpretations" of a real one, I figure this interpretation of a wood-bodied 1917 Depot Hack isn't too far out.

I love the stance. The pipes are killer, nhavent seen any others like them. It originally had wire wheels on the back as well, but they rusted to hell and the caretaker after Dad's buddy threw some spare Cragars he had on it.

Most terrifying thing I've ever driven but man I dig it, and my kids will be taken to school in it this fall.
