  1. I think that summarizes what the HAMB is all about.
Bonus points if the shiny old parts are either homemade or speed parts.:)

It's your car to do with what you want, but i'm a sucker for slicks hangin' out the fenders. To me that car looks perfect and is just begging for some radir slicks.

  4. I would be inclined to have the Olds shortened. Those are SUPER stout and less used then the 9".

  5. I would too, I mean the car has been together for 50+ years!?!?!?! Trim the rear end (I believe MW has axles) and get some more meat under those fenders. Done.

  7. Such a personal taste thing..great samples already shown, running the full gambit of choices.
Determining the final "look" you want in the end should dictate your choice.
Good luck, think on it a bit, tires and wheels can get a bit spendy these days.

If you want to take the 60's cool out of it, you need to get that rear out.

It's likely a decent year Olds/Pontiac (or narrowed already) because 50%+ of the wheel/tire isn't hanging out, haha.

What is the lug pattern you have, now? What brakes?

If you do narrow the rear end, and still want drum brakes, consider the billet Ford big bearing ends. The cost of parts will be a lot less and way more available.

Mark Williams and/or Fabcraft can make axles, no problem.

My real question, though, is what other 60's parts are going to go, too?

Chrome reverse wheels are a timeless look on a coupe. Tires are a personal choice, radials or bias ply, grooved slicks can all look good as shown in the above examples. I personally like the wheels you have, just get them tucked in in the back but it is not my car.

You have a beautiful car, now all you need to do is find a wheel package that will define your car... to a certain time frame, or period, to capture that very special look we all are looking for. Many great wheel combos to check out to get you where you need to be. Good Luck!

Ray got it exactly right. ^^^^^^^^ The relationship between the tire and the fender lip is one of the major relationships that makes or breaks how the car looks. Also it has to clear the inner fender well. Start with measuring how wide a tire your wheelwell can possibly use. Then decide what tire makes it for you and size your rim accordingly. Once you can set them under your fenders, measure for the correct width rear end. There may be a rear available thats the correct width but doesn't have the Olds bolt pattern, so a little investigation could save you some money.
