Wow. Many opinions and some good thoughts. It is a hot rod. So i am still conflicted, but thanks for all the thoughts. I did not know there is a sealed beam in there.
Drivers side for sure. As Jimmy Six said, if it's a stocker, go wth stock lights. If it's a hot rod, go small. The first thing guys did with them back in the day was to get rid of the big headlights.
903s on my coupe 682s for the sportster... not sure on the exact #s they don't have marker lights just the tags...
Sure, ya had to go and point that out. Now I'm re-thinking the look of my highboy. I have a set of Dietz or Kingbee repops, paint them body color, with chrome rings? Hmmm?might look bitchin!
I have done cars both ways and like them both ways, not much help I know but it is your choice to make. My 31 coupe I change the lights about every year people think I buy a new car every year it’s fun screwing with their heads.
What are you using for a front turn signal indicator... the cowl lights? With the cowl lights, I personally prefer the smaller light so the front doesn't look so crowded. But if it didn't have the cowl lights, and had a non-protrusive signal indicator, then Id probably go with the larger stock headlights. But that's only an opinion.
Put me in the small light group. Lets you see the nice rad surround and more of the curved headlight bar. The big lights have too much? chrome. Having said all that I would like your car regardless.
First of all, that’s a really nice car! Big headlights seem to be popular these days but they only look good on certain cars. I just went through the same process with my Model A coupe. In my case the deciding factor was too much chrome/stainless with the A headlights. I went with smaller Arrows and painted the buckets body color. With the dropped headlight bar it just looks more hot rod and has better proportions. It looked “crowded” with the bigger lights. I also ditched the stainless wire looms.
