Great score, love what your plans are with the banger etc. It can't get any better than that when so complete.

Well since some of the head studs broke, I figure now is a good time to hop up the banger a bit more. I've already got a high compression head and a couple intakes, but I need suggestions on cam and anything else I can do to make a bit more power. I've got a Burns dual carb intake I'd like to run but I'd like the engine to be able to handle the extra fuel and run well, I don't want to drown it out. So tell me I'm spending money to still go slow or put a small block in it the most period correct engine ever made. Or if you want give me some good advice on how to wake up this banger!

  4. I've heard Bill Stipe makes amazing cams for A/B Engines. Worth a shot to check em out!

One of the best bargains of the banger world is the B cam. Carry 1-2"" mikes and find a good one as the center bearing drives the oil pump/dist. and wears most. It's not a stupid cam like the race grinds but lets you get your money's worth out of the bling. Good Hunting: Fred A

I love your Model A Vicky's....I just have one question that maybe you can answer. Why didn't Ford put a visor on them. Was it optional? My Tudor sedan has the very same header panel under the visor. I think a visor might look good on a Vicky. But I have been wrong before. Just rambling and congrats on the Vicky's

I’m not sure why they didn’t get a visor, I actually kind of like it without.

Thanks. That may be an option. I’m still planning on what to do to the engine, so the more info the better.

The 35 brakes got here today, thanks hotrodA. When I put the dropped axel in my 35, I’m going to move the stock 35 axel over to the A. Now to figure out how to put 32 brakes on the rear.[IMG]

    IMO..... and my opinion only...
ford made 4 experimental bodies in 1929, they were to try the'30-'31's future look...
4 examples of '31 had a tilted windshield posts, less wood... '32's future look...
'32 3 window had the later beltline and suicide doors... '33-'34's future look...
    .
I think the A "header" was multi piece, when panel stamping sizes got bigger the '32 roof header was easier to mass produce one piece ...

If it doesn’t rain this might see daylight this weekend! I need to find a nice driver side splash panel for it, the one I have is pretty beat. I’m still undecided on what to do for headlights, to many ideas and I can only use one. 1EF6F97F-1618-4E7A-87E5-DEB6B0D86007.jpeg

Looking good! Could you take a tape or ruler and tell me how tall the window opening is in the door? Bob

Thanks it will be a big help with my Fordor Slant Window. Bob

  21. Slant Windows never had a visor. My guess is Ford was testing design concepts for the upcoming 32.

It looks like about 12.5 inches, if you need any other measurements let me know. 9C2AE1B7-B655-4255-9147-74F426B4BA19.jpeg F1F453E4-978B-4A2A-8A24-36512249CEAE.jpeg 870F2522-4C85-4A7E-8BA6-1722C3F10E92.jpeg

Thanks! The Fordor door is the same 12 1/2 up front but grows to 13 1/2 in the back. Lots of measuring and double checking before any cuts are made.

I built my old Sedan Delivery from a '31 Slantwindow Fordor. The front door window opening is about 7/8" difference front to back. I slightly "angle chopped" it, 3" in the front, to 3-1/2" in the back.

To me the Vicky looks so much nicer with parrallal top and bottom window openings, my goal is to copy them.

I welded a '31 slant window fordor cowl and doors to a '31 vicky rear clip...
had to pie chop the s/w fordoor door about an inch to match the vicky quarter window...
i think the vicky door is shallower... memory says w/s frames were the same...

Nice! Do I see a visor on it? How tall are your windows after the chop?
