  3. @Ryan -

In my humble {& very biased} opinion, your initial thought of finding a high resolution shot of the "Aloha Land {chopped & channeled Deuce 5wd} Coupe" is probably the best idea:

... that said, I believe the Petersen archives have some high rez images Robert 'Longie' Gandall's Channeled Deuce Roadster:

Anyone got a scanner, this issue, and a need for 365 days of alliance bliss?

  6. Issues yes, scanner no, so I'll be sending you my money again in November lol. :D

  7. Another option would be to get @Chris Casny (now living on Maui) to do a photo shoot of his very traditional '29 Hiboy Roadster and/or '40 Merc:

  10. FYI ... The Petersen archives include several HIGH REZ images from the photo shoot of Morishige's channeled Deuce Roadster that appeared in the October 1959 issue of HOT ROD Magazine.

UPDATE #1: Click HERE for Ed Moon's photos of Haruo Morishige's roadster at Iolani Palace

UPDATE #2: Click HERE for Ed Moon's photos of Gene Uyesugi's channeled Deuce roadster (also shot at Iolani Palace).

Got this at a yard sale. Think its probably SoCal but it covers the surfer/hoodlum angle IMO. And its copyrighted so that is an issue. Credit to the copyright holder and if there is a problem with this posting please delete. surf 001.jpg

May not have been built in Aloha Land, But this one gets my vote! You could probably message the owner and ask him real nice to forward you some hires pics of it. I bet he has some good ones in his files somewhere:D

  26. Isamu Okuda built his channeled Model A Roadster in Honolulu between 1952 & 1954.

Here it is in the late '60s or early '70s:
