To all of you out there in H.A.M.B. LAND, if your father is still alive, by all means go spend time with him as much as you can, you wont regret it. I lost my dad when he was 48 and I was 24, he was a character and I am glad I got to enjoy him and his wrecking yard when I was a kid growing up ! The black arrow is my old 56 IHC S-110 retired bell telephone, line service truck, and this was when I was just out of the army and getting back to hippy status back in 75.

In keeping with Bobs entry, one of my oldies as well, a very cool high boy that lives at the FLABOB airport in Riverside California.

  10. Here's another one of my crazy concepts . I think it would have made a pretty nice grocery getter.

Street roadster HAMB style or modified hot roadster that sets records at local dragstrips?
"Brissette, Eichenhofer and Quincy Automotive Modified Hot Roadster"

    Hello,

    upload_2021-6-18_4-38-36.png
Before setting records in their own Candy Apple Red Modified Roadster, the team of Bob Brissette/Howard Eichenhofer were part of the George Burkhardt/Reath Automotive roadster group. The roadster ran at Bonneville and at the local dragstrips of So Cal.

The Red/Orange 29 roadster appeared, made some great runs and developed a different team. But, then in the middle of 1959, they started racing in their own team of Brissette and Eichenhofer with a Quincy Automotive support.

1959-60 Lion’s Dragstrip Street Roadster Class?

The cool thing while filming from my long distance away, spectator side, spot was that the lens did not tell me who was racing. The bright Candy Apple Paint color and whitewall tires identified this roadster back then. Over the years of inactivity, in watching my drag racing films, some of the names slipped away. But, this fast modified roadster looked like it was driven directly off of the street and racing in the street roadster class. But, it was a show car and fast record setting, modified, hot roadster.

Quincy Automotive was one of the top speed shops in Southern California, with a long list of drag racers and dry lakes racing involvement. In our opinion, Quincy was to Los Angeles racers as Reath Automotive was to Long Beach area racers. The lists are long from both early speed shops.

  21. Sorry to say I lost my Dad 40 years ago. He was not a car guy but a very talented trades person holding a license in all trades.
But here is a photo of tb33anda3rd with his Dad and their 33 Chevy Coupe passed down from senior to junior and kept in pristine condition all these years. Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's

Reminds me of the time my sister and I, ages 2 and 3, "helped" out dad by "washing" the car. Unfortunately the only water available was from a mud puddle.

Happy Fathers Day,to my Dad in haven. He hated to get his hands dirty, but helped out his way, by letting me work on an keep my car parts in the weeds out back. Even got to use his car port on some days. And give me his advise, when looking on some times ! Likely better advise then I thought in the very early 1960s !! J Olds soupUp1961.jpg [IMG]
My Mom snapped the pic. I think of it as art* from my Mom RIP
