Pretty sure. It takes that other stick a whole lot longer to get involved these days. Come to think of it, it WAS a bit more fun when I found it, though.
I don't know if I can scan and post a good enough picture but they will be at Byron Dragway need weekend and I will try to buy a few copies. If I am successful, I will let you know and you can PM me an address to send them to. The picture was in an article about Eagle Field.
Well, it happened that CPW's Spring Fling wasn't scheduled against a meet this year, so I hauled the 'Brick on up to it. Turned out that a Motor Trend/Hot Rod mag writer was there when some folks asked me to flame'er again. Anyway, here's the link, 'bout one minute in on the vid. Couple pics in the article, but he never bothered to ask me any questions, so the info's pretty far off base. https://www.motortrend.com/events/s...8Og2hhmd3fp3L0zeOhVymrWhXeUuKCKfGY-jVn2tH6VEg
Good to hear it running again Dick. Things are still a bit quiet over here racing wise. I had to pass on the last Gunnedah event due to diesel prices going ballistic so tow cost for the weekend would've increased by about $140. Hopefully Gunnedah weekend after next and August will be Gunnedah, the following weekend Willowbank nostalgias with a side trip to visit our son in Queensland and then maybe Mildura nostalgias the following weekend. It'll be close to 4,000 kilometres (approximately 2800 miles) all up. Did I mention I like racing?
I feel your pain Tom. $2.20 Aud per litre over here until the pollies reduced the excise by half. (Election year). Around the $1.80 ish now so a long trip is doable. I'm leaving the enclosed trailer behind and using a lighter open trailer to reduce drag on the tow vehicle so should pick up some mpg. It means sleeping in the back of the ute but we do this shit for the sport.
I paid $6.39 per gallon the other day but yesterday morning it was $6.69. It varies day to day but it keeps going up.
Well, Kiddies, Putting my kit together for this coming weekend's run up to Eagle Field. Three days of real dirt pits, a genuine WWII Army Air Corp pilot training base runway for a strip, good friends, hot sweaty weather, far from the world's b.s., no "gold chainers" around, and real nostalgia cars everywhere. Looking forward to three days of racing, lying, bragging, then racing again. Oh, yeah!
Should be good. I was due to race 14th/15th at Gunnedah but it got canned due to impending rain. Not a drop fell all weekend. August for me now. It's time they built a freeway between here and Eagle Field so I can come and race. Hope everything runs well Dick.
