Features POLL: Canted quad headlights

There's no accounting for taste, is there...................... It's a no from me.

 

See, I think this looks awesome, and is a nice breath of fresh air from the majority of Mercs that don't have them.

Also see Bob Politz's insane 51 Merc as well. Stands out in a sea of similar.

 

Are there any other cars that people don`t want to see ?

 

Most shown are not good... @Moriarity stuff is dead on. The factory chryslers are cool as hell. But most...nope.

 

I agree on the Chryslers, they nailed it. The poll would probably swing in their favor on the Customs forum.

 

Not a fan. Prefer single lights, except on 60’s cars with wide grills and side by side lights.

Back in '69, when I was 18, I had a '62 Chrysler Newport. Thought it was butt ugly then, (it was just 7 year old used car). Nowadays I would probably drive it...

 

Tasteless, crap, whatever, I love ALL canted Quads. They're all good!

 

I toyed with the idea of dual headlights on my '51 GMC. I made many design drawings, canted, vertical, horizontal. They all came out making the front of the truck look heavy.

That is the same thing that I see on most of the customs, it tends to make the front of the car look heavy and out of proportion.

My opinion for what that is worth.

If this was a real election, I'd vote several times... my side needs a little help.

 

Eye of the time,and really what each actually know. I like them crazy lights just fine. Ture some customs are done poorly with them,an others very well.

 

As others have said it depends on the car, also the angle of the head lights.

They look great on the Ala Kart.

 

If you consider that the whole goal of a "custom car" was to make it look more modern...to even futuristic, it would only make sense that anything customized after 1958 would have quad headlights...canted or otherwise. Of course it didn't always end up being a stylistic improvement.

 

Not as bad as grafted in square headlights, but never did much for me.
