not much of an update here,
    'been playing with seat construction,
not happy with my efforts yet so..
    'played with something else..

    switches came in the mail,
did a quick layout and stuck them in the dash.
starter button, two position ignition switch, headlights and two push pull switches.

Not crazy about the knobs on the new switches,
dug through my dwindling stash looking for triples, found some that would work with modification, not crazy about them either though..
So I painted the centers of the new ones,
and try to move on to something that matters..

  5. The best part about this is your tinwork. EVERY part of the body top and bottom is finished off. So well done.

I know I should be working on more important critical path items on the list but
after posting thoughts on the gauge placement thread I dug through my pile and found a spring wind clock that actually works
it did have a brown face though, so took it apart and painted brown to black and put it back together.
pulled the dash panel and welded the two right most holes up, where the oil temp and vacuum gauges were,
cut a new hole for the clock to go in
and put it all back in the car.
now maybe I can move on..

    little firewall happening here.
I welded the recess for the distributor in before running it through the bead roller,
of course that meant the hump was it the way for a continuous run around the step,
I had to roll from both sides and it got a bit wonky.
it'll need a little massaging then I may tack it in temporarily to work out throttle linkage
and it'll get fully welded in when the body comes off

    also revisited the seating..
cut some poster board panels and leaned some old plastic chairs in to help visualize a possible style

I lowered the front a little.
Lowered the front of the top bar an inch
and reversed the spring eyes to clear.

I cut an inch out of the top of the four bar bracket that's welded to the axle to lower the forward rod end.
That put the rod end a little close to the spring's main leaf so I reversed the spring eyes to gain clearance.
That lowered the front of the car an inch

Oh ok. Thanks. When you get a chance, could you take a couple pics of how the front suspension is now?

Thanks for the pictures! I understand reversing the spring eyes to lower the car/gain clearance but what was the initial reason for moving the radius rods/bar down? Was it for looks or some other reason. I'm just curious since I'm setting up a very similar setup.

    Primarily to improve travel action.
Getting the four bars closer to parallel greatly reduced bind.
The reversed eyes and lower front end was a secondary result.

Ok. I wondered about that. I should be close to parallel since my rear pivot points are around 7 inches and the fronts are about 8. How different were your front and rear ends of the bars before you changed them?

    Stepped panel firewall bugged me.
Cut the recess out and welded it in to a new flat firewall.

Far be it for me to judge a fella with arguably one of the best eyes for T's in the modern era, but when I saw your IG post with the stepped firewall I wasn't feeling it.

Glad you had a change of heart to suit my tastes hahaha

doing pretty good on this build,
seems some in the past I could have built a whole 'nuther car with the rejects..
a shittier version of the same car that is..

There's a bit of welding to do yet, enough that it's best to clamp it down,
it also gives me one last chance to check for straight and true

  28. Damn Paul. You do still have your other T .. right ? ( love that one, too )

Are you aiming to finish this one to a higher standard ?

**This one on the build index, yet ? Better get the moderator in charge to do so. :)

Yes I still have the '27, thank you.
I would like to see this one finished.
Maybe once it's on the road I can finish the '27 too.. we will see.
Yes this build thread is listed in the index.
