I am putting a '48 Ford 59A in my '31 A. Will be putting a '32 grill shell on it. What seems to be the best radiator arrangement to go with, preferably "over the counter" type?

Usta be a Walker. But since they have gone out of business, the good ones are scarce. Brassworks look nice, and seem to have a lot of recommendations.

try yer stock one modified of course.. If ya have one, have rad shop check flow.

I used my stock '29 Ford radiator, with a 283 chevy engine, had no problems, AND NO BURP TANK, and didn't overheat when I drove to L.A. And back, in 1963 from Washington State.

Im traditional all the way BUT i recently purchased an aluminum radiator , actually 2 for flathead builds . One was a stocker 41 ford the other an A with an 8 ba . Both were about $150 each and excellent. Keeps the mercury.080 over motor in the 41 cool and the A is just getting finished . Id recommend the Ebay alum deals .

I have a pressurized Brassworks radiator in my otherwise stock '29 and am happy with it.

  7. Using a Brassworks on my '30 roadster project with '32 grill. '32 frame and 59AB flathead
Best customer service and really nice product. Fits like a glove.
They added over flow tank to it.

Hello, looks good is that a 2 or 3 inch chop on the rad. Don

  9. Don,

    This is a 2" chop. Everything I found online indicated 30-31 requires a 2" chop. 28-29's need a 3" chop.
I mocked up with 2" and very happy with outcome.

7B7E0BC2-56B3-4635-87A9-0FFD29FD92AA.jpeg My ‘31 has a stock dimension ‘32 Brassworks with the hidden fill neck. I chose not to get the built in overflow tank because you have no indication if the radiator level gets low. I use a bottle for the overflow to gauge if I’m losing water. I’m glad I did because the 21 stud that used to be in it used water very slowly and I could only tell by my overflow gradually going empty.
