Pre war hand pumps are pretty hard to come by here, an old sprayer that had been lurking unused it the shed for many years, yielded the makings.
I had intended to use the tank for the petrol tank but that didn't work out.

Edit: The tank did end up in the racer as a petrol tank.

Hopefully the pics are self explanatory.

  3. Excellent , have not seen anybody use a metal shaper in a long time love the boring bar too. Would like to see more small projects like this on the H.A.M.B.

Thanks Oldmtech, owning a shaper is like having a plug in steam engine in your shed, everyone should have one.

This is mine playing a foot tapping tune...

Thanks, shapers are cheap, tooling even cheaper, who needs a mill, not me!

That's great. Gee, you don't see shapers very much anymore.

Wow. I wasn't even aware there was such a thing as a shaper. Thank you for educating me. The pump is perfect.

Mighty fine looking pump! Great to hear the sound of a shaper again! I think the last time that I watcher and heard one was in the sixties at the sawmill machine shop1 Great machine!

Very nice, the way that pump 'shaped-up'!
I'd love to find an old used shaper...(I'm a 'tool-hoarder'...Maybe I can start a support group, "Tool Hoarders anonymous?" Have to find a center big enough for a meeting...)
