Hot Rods BIG and little tires

    Every one has a look they want. No matter what the horse power or cubic inch I definitely do not like the look of a wide tire/wheel combo on an open wheel
    late 20’s early 30’s car. Tall is good if it looks good with the arch of the inner body panel. Truck tires were once the only option you had when moving to an inch or two wider wheels but times have changed. Tubbed cars are a turn off for me but this why there are so many options.

    I love big and little tires on hotrods, but I try not to undersize front tires if the car isn't a light car. So on my Austin sedan gasser a 3.5" Ansen in front with tiny tires is fine as it only weighs about 2300 lbs. But on my '39 Chev coupe the weight is more than 1000 lbs. over the Austin, and I went with 5" wide front wheels, and larger tires. Still the big and little look, just not quite as little up front. Both cars use 8.5"x15" with Towel City 9" pie crust slicks in back.
    I wont let looks override safety too much.
