Wow! Great thread. You have to lose that wheelie bar and put that front end 3 feet in the air!

Been there, done that, with the big wheelies. All it does is puts ya on the trailer first round. Lol

Been testing a little, didn’t quite have my ducks in a row for the season opener at Holt Florida, but we’re getting dialed in for Shady Side. 2232lb race ready minus driver isn’t bad for a 55 Chevy I don’t think!

That is fly-weight Zak .... I know how tough it had to be to get there with the stringent rules.
    God Bless you my friend,

Got some ideas in the works coming up though.

Zak, it was really nice meeting and talking to you and your Dad at Shady Side. Lost my dad January 2020, miss him every day. Watching you and your dad working together really made me happy and remembering me and my dad doing the same thing, working as only a father and son can. You guys are the real deal, “Home Grown”! Really looking forward to your Anglia getting done and racing.

Been selling some parts and getting some money gathered up, going to a new motor for the Farmington race. We went to A gas for a race last week at Kentucky, way heavy and underpowered just trying to get some decent passes on the car, now we have the motor back out and going to a 347” SBC and going back to B gas. No chance of making a run at the points this season, but we’re gonna try to shake up the ladder a little atleast.

Drivers side is from Florida in November when the 396 came apart. The dent in the passenger side quarter happened on the way to the race in Alabama last month.

It’s up and rolling, cage is basically done, motor is mounted, and the headers are made. Need to put a couple more small bars in it, mount the steering box, and mount the rear shocks and it’ll be time to disassemble, finish weld everything, and final assembly can start. Race season pretty much has put this car on the back burner but I’ll get back on it soon hopefully.

Got the combo straightened out and running well. Went the fastest pass ever in B gas trim for the 55 at shady side, and we went a few rounds in the last couple races. Now we’re thrashing on the Anglia to get it ready for next season.

9C923FC6-ED52-4A49-AF72-B5B25AAEACE5.jpeg Season opener for SEGA was kind of a mess for me especially. This was the first time to the track without dad, where he passed away in January from covid. I miss him terribly but I’m trying to keep going in his memory.

That's all you can do is keep going.
You know he wouldn't want you to quit.
My dad has been gone 20 years now and not a day goes by that I don't think about him and miss him.
Just keep remembering the good times.

As I watched the racing from Georgia, I thought to myself, What A Strong Man to be able to go back out there after losing Your Best Friend. Impossible for me to even fathom what must have been going through Your mind this past weekend. I know that the SEGA folks made you Welcome with their comraderie and I’m pretty sure there were tears shed as they offered their support and condolences. I will continue to Prayer for your healing, Carp.

  29. Glad to see you are back out there Zak. Your dad sure would be very proud of you. He is watching over you my friend. :)

Sorry for your loss. I also lost my father in January, one of the hardest things I have had to deal with. He would like you to keep going and enjoy the racing.
