LOL, surprisingly enough I didn’t but I did have to climb down the ladder to get out of the ceiling I remained remarkably calm but the guys I was working with were freaking out a little though.

It looks like it fell apart! Good luck with your healing. You are now officially the one armed man.... for a while.

OUCH!!! Looks like you tried to shake hands with a running chain saw. Interesting it's the 4th of July today. There used to be a pathologist, at the hospital I worked at for 29 years, that had what was "left" of a persons hand in a jar of formaldehyde; he'd bring it out every 4th of July for employees to look at. M-80 blew up in the guys hand, and they amputated what was left of it. Lots of explosions going off as I write this, and the three Chihuahua's are in hiding. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

I don’t want to sound like Sammy Safety or something but when I put my 324 Olds on my engine stand like that it really wanted to fall over. I took off the arms and bolted on a 1/2” plate drilled for the Olds. Much more stable, especially with the heads on.
I hope that hand is healing fast, looking forward to seeing this all come together.

I understand what you’re talking about, But this is really stable I wasn’t sure if it was going to work out or not, But so far it’s been pretty good. Thank you, the hand is definitely healing up I’m in physical therapy now probably another six weeks or so with the splint (I hope).

Started reassembling the Rocket, I can’t seem to find any specs anywhere, torque, etc. Are there any resources that may have them?

  14. @J_J2 don't forget the small gasket tabs at the rear main. I f you leave them out you will have a leaker. Secondly, ensure that you put the oil slinger on the front crank snout along with one of the front galley plugs that has the predrilled hole in for oiling the chain. Exhaust bolts go thru to the water jacket so treat them accordingly:D
Good to see another Rocket getting back together. Guess your hand is back to being healthy(ier)

Thanks Walt! It’s not 100% (probably will never be) but I can start using it now.

Those Chevys have nice conservative styling. I like the two piece windshield.
Will the stock steering box location clear the V8?

I haven’t, I’m actually selling the engine to a gentleman who is building a 1955 Olds custom.

  20. So, what are you going to use for an engine in the project?

I acquired a 1965 396 that is currently at the machine shop. I was sad to see the Olds go, but it went to a good home.

Made a little more progress today. Mocked up axle location, until it got too hot to work in the garage.
