Nicely done! I've built a number of quadra ports of the era (photo of 3 of them)...get it sitting right and trust me, it'll draw plenty of attention. Plus, your family will appreciate all those extra emergency exits. Lol.
It didn’t take me long to get the old girl running. Had to pull the starter due to the bendix being stuck. Also had to clean the contacts in the ignition switch on the column and the points needed cleaning. After that, she fired right up. Sam and drove her to get fresh gas. The brakes were a little spongy and sticky , but I was a planning on going through the brakes anyway. Sam and I drove her home so he could clean her up. We started driving her around town. Really liking the access with the 4 door. Hauling baseball gear was a breeze. she cleaned up pretty good. I’ll polish and buff her up later.
I can make room, not to worry. Plus, the red one will be a drag coupe some day. Hoping we can line them up.
Went through the brakes, now she stops like a ‘40 Ford should. I’ve been driving her on local errands and she is running better each time. Although, I noticed last night coming home from getting ice Cream with the kids, I could see a pretty decent trail of smoke through the headlights behind me. Burning a little oil...
Nice fordoor, amazing how well preserved it is! It seems those accessory lights are popular for 40 Fords.
Very nice ! A friend has a 40 4dr & it is well known in norhtern Ohio. Good on you, got to love the "suicide doors". ENJOY !!!
