Mike Leffman nYecstetfrSdtlaSypoonS asStt ga5:dos5r3odf tPiretdM · Stolen from Havasu, my 1957 TBird, VIN 8435, please keep your eyes open especially around body shops due to the unique color. Substantial reward offered. One sad Memorial Day weekend for sure.
Very sorry for your experience and sincerely hope you recover it. It would be good to know how it was stolen, from where, when, etc.
Ford lists it as Thunderbird bronze. Not as popular as the red, black or white but there are bronze ones that show up for-sale occasionally if you are looking for one. There were 19 colors offered by Ford and 10 for Thunderbirds including 2-tones in 57. Just over 23,000 were made in 57 and I doubt there are many Bronze ones left. On a color change of a stolen one the vin tag will show the original color. I’m guessing the person stealing it may be looking to install a tag from a found or wrecked one hoping for an uninformed buyer...
This one is for sale in Oceanside, CA https://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/cto/d/oceanside-1957-bird-code/7329894834.html 1957 T-Bird E Code - $55,000 (Oceanside)
As for the color it is a great looking color but in 1957 it didn't "pop" either in the sales brochure or in a line of T birds out on the lots where there were several to choose from. I hate thieves and in this case you can almost bet that some low life stole it or had it stolen to cut his costs for restoring one to top shape.
