Hello All, I am buying a 1928 roadster and am looking for a good shipping company. I might just drive it home. Could be a great adventure? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks BZ
Hi, Bill. If you do a search, there will be many recommendations for HAMB haulers in the HAMB-o-Dex. I can personally recommend Bill's Auto Works. There are all small business guys and likely will be busy but worth the wait.
I see you are a newbie, so...Welcome To The Hamb! There are 4 QUALITY Transporters here on the Hamb (BenD, Racinman, David Robert Phelps & Myself) . We all have ads in the Hamb O Dex section where you can see hundreds of all positive feedbacks about us. That is the great thing about that section...The feedback is posted by the actual fellow Hambers who have used our service in the past. Give any or all a call, email or P.M. with town names or zip codes for cash on delivery price quotes! It all depends on how road ready the car is as to if you do a fly in/drive back or have it hauled. I'd rather see someone have Bill or one of the other Hamb Haulers do the transporting than have it stuck on a convoy truck. Still where the car is and where it has to go to has a lot to do with getting it delivered. The further it or you are off the main east/west or north/south routes the more of a challenge it might be.
I have used Bill, and he was great. I equally like that he stands up to support the other quality HAMB haulers. It says something when a person can stand on their record and doesn't have to build themselves up by pushing others down.
Thanks Paul ! I have been here on the HAMB longer than anyone else here who hauls - I also have been a HAMB Alliance Member the longest. I am on my way now to Tacoma, Washington. My next availability is from Seattle & Tacoma down the I-5 to Southern California. I may be doing runs up & down the west coast for awhile if there is a need - no particular rush to drive into the summer heat & humidity developing across the rest of the country. My anchor load east to Florida when I leave California is a Shelby GT Mustang but I still will have 13 feet available for a smaller vehicle. I will just leave this right here!........... BenD has been a member & Hamb Transporter since March 5th 2001 God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ar-transport-hauling-open-or-enclosed.614419/
I think all four of you have been around long enough for everyone here to know your body of work. I'm really not into 11 year old cheap shots, either. You can build yourself up without tearing others down. And that's all I have to say about that.
I called Bill's Auto works about hauling my '55 Chevy from Arkansas to Texas. I have owned this car since 1975 and we had been through a lot together. I was gifting it to my daughter and son-in-law. Bill was booked up. He suggested BenD, who transported the car 500 miles and he did a fantastic job! No damage and no problems. I would use BenD again. My 3 year old grand-daughter asked why that man took his shoes off before getting into the '55. My daughter explained because he cared about his job.
