I picked this 55 up quite a few years ago and fixed the rear pan and put a clutch and pressure plate in, then it got put aside while I started up a business. Now to make it a daily driver for the summer, it’s pretty solid, I have to repair a botched job on the doglegs, but over all it’s not to bad. It’s got a 283 and a four speed. Let’s see some pics of four doors done well so I can get some ideas.

That sound a bit nasty in a good way.

  6. Put a piece of wire mesh in there, and make it look like a dirt track racer!

  7. An old guy i knew said he had a 55 when he was a kid. He said he drove it with no windshield for a awhile but he wore a full face motorcycle helmet.:D
    Your car sounds great!

Thanks, rustydusty and scotty t! I’m not sure the law would like the windshield less idea!. That and it’s going to be one of my daily drivers and I don’t like getting wet on the way to work.

I’m not sure if the other video works so maybe this one will.

  10. Glad you're making progress. Too bad you aren't closer. I've got a pair of original sedan windshields you could have to experiment with.

I love a green ‘55 Chevy! The first car I fell for was a green 4 door ‘55 in my dad’s body shop decades ago. Nice project.

We’ve got endless back roads in the mountains here!

I’m also looking for a set of hubcaps like these if anyone has some.[IMG]
