Still too early to call, but there's definitely a front runner! Interested to see how the late-week crowd leans.
I also like the louver thread, that and any of the many build threads (@CadMad for instance). As others have said, you can’t pick just one. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Don't forget, Lloyd's Autobody & Glass is gonna send a nice bottle of Woodford Reserve to the winner, or if you don't like Kentucky bourbon, I'll send you a crisp $50 bill
The Winners are Us. A great group of tech articles that no doubt will be used over and over throughout the years coming. It was Very hard for me to pick One over all the others as I'm sure that will change many times over, as well , through the years. Thank you all for takin the time.
This is actually the thing I'm most bummed not to be winning! It looks like @the-rodster has this one buttoned up, and it's well deserved...dude is committed. I say next tech week he's got to show us how to lay out louvers after polishing off that Woodford Reserve.
We are having poll issues... The garage journal and jalopy journal serve from the same db on poll data (stupid) and my recent migration on garagejournal.com has screwed up the numbers. The results appear correct (I will validate this today), but the vote numbers are off my a multitude of 10. Still... low voter turn out... but far better than it looks.
As per my post on the vote thread that @Moriarity posted today, the day of the thread to end, what says it has to end today? Is it a website type technical setup thing, I don't know the first thing about it so just asking.
https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/tech-week-may-2021-thread-links.1228706/ here is the thread with all the links
Interesting, 'was wondering about the low polling numbers, glad the actual numbers were higher and more gladder results are correct!
I went for the brake thread too. It may not be as glamorous or visually interesting as the louvre or chopping thread, but it’s a good collection of good information that is pertinent to everyone on this board. And, a good resource for beginners to be able to enjoy their cars safely. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Ok fellas... Digging through the database... I can tell you this. The winner had 510 votes. I am going to pm Paul. Seems only fair that he makes the announcement.
The brake thread was my choice as well. All of the tech threads were worthwhile and interesting, but the key word is "tech", and I thought the brake stuff was the most technically orientated approach. Ticked all the boxes for me... A big "well done" to all who contributed. Good stuff. Your time and effort is much appreciated...
Winner will be announced on MONDAY! And everyone - please give Paul a big round of applause... I had a window to update garagejournal.com and no choices. This would NOT have happened if it weren't for him.
From a new guy (first tech week), thankyou. This would be really good as an annual event with a set designated week. This would give prep time, and would make for some exceptional stuff to be submitted.
I think Paul should get a promotion to super moderator along with the large pay increase and fringe benefits.....
