  2. Like many of you I have been involved with hot rods most of my life and have a box with dash plaques I have never taken out of the packet, I was looking for something in my night stand and found 3 in there, I'm not the most organized guy in the world and probably have them scattered all around the house. 3. If I have it I am going to use it or it is gone. Just the way I am. Now my display cases are a mess but the stuff is in there even if you can't see it.

Only have the one on my old man's car.

It's from 1966 and getting pretty beat-stupid question-does anywhere restore such things?

I'll try and get a pic-dash in in storage while I work on the firewall.

  6. Not for the dash exactly........
I have this one for the cargo area of my panel truck....... and I'm not afraid to use it.

    "Nother one....... for the dash.
If you don't agree it's a "dash plaque" ........see the first plaque.

Forgive me if the event is not HAMB friendly but a great number of the cars in attendance were pre ‘1965.
I was there in 1972 for the first event for post ‘48 cars. Here is some memorabilia from the event:
I removed the poster from a utility pole near the Mid South Fairgrounds.

I think the coolest dash plaques maybe the louvered ones from the Frog Follies.

  22. I’ll say!
We stayed at a Holiday Inn, and the water in the pool was so hot you couldn’t get in it.
A couple of guys went and bought a 500 lb. block of ice and put it in the pool.
Didn’t work so well, it had melted by morning. Barely changed the water temp.
Why did I EVER move there?!!!

It wasn’t mine at the time, but it’s my race car now. After I got Ed’s race car from his family I asked them if I needed to return this record dash plaque. They told me no and that it had been in every #186 race car Ed ever raced since 1953! 858908BC-2FA1-49B7-B257-A9693DC4F784.jpeg It’s really cool, everything is raised stamped that isn’t painted red! Red means Record!

Luckily you had enough gauges... and dig the 8-Track!

  27. From the Gary Cagle collection. You'll see Fritz Voights name on one of them. For some reason Fritz couldn't drive that day and my dad drove. There's an Otis McCurrie--my uncle. For some sad reason took his own life in about 1962. I have an El Mirage Trophy that he won at the same Meet as the Timing Tag 20171129_100109.jpg 20171129_100132.jpg 20171129_100308.jpg
