I know this topic has been done ad nauseum but here's something that may help others. I was looking at the door of my '32 5W the other night after I removed the garnish moulding and confirmed the original paint colour. I brought over a fender from my OT car which was painted TR6 Saphire and it is a dead on, 100% match. So if anyone is in need of exact match try it out.
I googled up some images of mid 70's Triumph TR6 in Sapphire Blue and yeah, that's pretty damn close if not exact. That color has so many varying shades anyway, I think this would definitely work. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=tr6+sapph...exp":"b","msvrtexp":"b"}&iax=images&ia=images
Thanks for the info, and code, @Fortunateson! I sorta-matched the color from my son's 'driver' provided by his employer, a Honda, 2006 (?) But it was just a guess, from 1963 when Flyer in San Jose painted my '46 Coupe Washington Blue. I've been chasing info on a paint match for more than a few years now...
Yes, that is interesting. I love the original Washington Blue, but it seems that the modern versions sold are just not the same. Thanks for the tip.
Single stage Shopline (I think..I'll have to check the can). Not ideal conditions for pics but my eye says it's at least 99.99% correct.
This what PPG Washington Blue looks like. It came up as 1936 color. It looks really different in different light. I have paint code if anyone is interested.
You know,,,it’s funny,,,that color is beginning to seem a lot more likable to me . It’s amazing how the light makes it change to a complete different color . Not bad at all. Tommy
