the bearclaw latches were never installed so i"m trying to figure them out?

I have the Downs 'glass version of the DD.

Help me understand exactly what you need on the top, cover panel. Mine is cable operated with a pull lever between the rear wheel tub and driver's door. I've never investigated the latch at the other end.

I never though the steel Dearborn Deuce bodies were ever sold unassembled. I built one in the early 2000's right after they first came out and it was completely assembled? Mine had the latch handles in the door jam for the top cover and the trunk.

My car is the one that they sold the rights to downs and made a mold from.
So i bought it in pieces from at that time hotrods and horsepower.
I need a photo of the latching inside the trunk, that holds the toneau down.
The bear claw setup hooked to the cables you are talking about.
    Thanks for any help!

  5. I will try to get pics tomorrow. Most of it is covered by trunk interior and interior panel behind the seat. Let me see what I find.

    Thank you! so much!

  7. The bear claw is mounted above the rear wheel well, but outside the area if the upholstered trunk. The photo is looking backward through the upholstered panel that is between the passenger compartment and trunk.
I also took a picture of the stud that the bear claw captures. It is on the hinge arm for the tulip panel.
These photos are both on driver's side. Other side looks the same. Hope this helps. I'm open to your questions. 20210512_134849.jpg 20210512_134859.jpg

  9. As I think about it, in simple terms, the bear claw has to capture the pin when the tulip panel is in the closed position.
