Wow, what a nice score/car!! Congratulations and good luck with it. Would like to see more pictures of it.
Yep-Bob built that one several years ago-he has built many. We have collaborated on many as well. We both have the pts list, etc to do these. He is in the downsizing mode and has several nice project cars(39.40's etc) for sale and parts-if it's 40 he has it!!. I placed them in the ads here for him. Know of complete front doors, coupe full sets of window garnish etc etc etc! 50 years worth of accumulation-some of the projects have done chassis and bodies painted already.
I would list the '40 Ford experts of the world as follows:.... Tim Bob (either one first) Mrs. Bedford Henry Ford.
^^^^ Funny!! Fooling with another one now. Real sweet black deluxe. Stocker except for dropped axle etc-restored orig 47K mile car with Columbia etc. A few guys are bugging me to buy it as is or want to buy it when done our way-no rush here. Wife says tear it apart and do our way like all the others we have done! Has been on hold due to covid lockdown. May proceed now after I drive it a bit.
The bottom of my Monaco motorhome is a green very close to that. I never thought about it as a hot rod color, but it looks so good on your 40!!
Bob who did the 40 shown is down sizing-has several project cars-39 deluxe painted body with 265. 40 coupe body painted etc 40 sedan same deal and lots of parts too. As said, he painted many for me and friends-maybe 7-8 for me, Items are in the for sale sections. Thank you
Just curious; have you ever heard of Mike Kubarsky? (I think that's his last name; he is "Kube" on "The Ford Barn".)
I think I may have his last name wrong; my apologies to him. As "geoford41" above says, Mike is the author of the Early Ford V8 Club's authoritative book on restoring '40 Fords. He has done many 1000 point restorations of them, and I believe a few '39's. His standard of workmanship is head and shoulders above most anyone else in the hobby. Since he does only stock restorations, you will not see him on this forum. You may want to jump over to "The Ford Barn" and check out some of his restoration threads. They are amazing.
Thays a very nice looking coupe, sits great. any chance you can give me the part number on that top hose, looks like just what i need..
Hanging out with the guys at So-Cal before heading to Salt Lake for the Good Guys event this weekend.
Can someone please connect me with Bob Clouse. I am in the process of purchasing a car that I'm told was built by Bob 8 years ago... maybe longer.. I am most interested in paint code/color for future reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THX
