The doors are wider by about a foot.

  3. One of the Australian glass body manufactured (may still) a 32 2 door phaeton. Don't know if any were exported here but would certainly be neat to have.

  5. I am looking for a 31 Model A 2 door phaeton body for a customer. Glass or original will work. Does anybody know where one of these bodies is? 865-755-7019

Since I have my old car magazine library organized and these images burned into my memory, here are some old images. Charles Mayenschein's car was widened 2", lengthened 1 1/2" behind the door posts, top chopped 2". The license plate says 1958. Great proportions. 10. That was Wally Deskins. I have a vague recollection of it going to Victoria, but could be way off base.

I looked at one years ago and was amazed by all the one off stuff the deluxe has. The doors are super long with larger hinges and really unique.

  12. Kept thinking I would build this Gibbon body but decided to let it go. Plan was to put it on a 32 frame and replace the firewall with a stock 31.

  16. IIRC, there was a guy in Lancaster, California that was making steel 2 door phaeton bodies in the early 1970's, and they were very well done. I think that the price for the phaeton body was about $ 3500.00, which seemed like a lot of money, but what would have cost to have an original body restored. We had a customer that we tried to convince to buy one. But he claimed that the car would not be original. I told him, you are using reproduction fenders, splash aprons, running boards, etc, so why not use the reproduction body. I think that he didn't want to pay the price at that time. I can't remember the name of the guy that made the bodies, but he also made beautiful 1930-31 roadster / phaeton stainless outside handles for those bodies. I bought a pair way back then , and I still have them on my roadster.
