I am putting the front end of my 1941 Chevy Sedan back together and need help on what size bolts/screws these are. There are (2) on each fender top brace and about 12 on the chin piece. Pic below is an original screw, next to a 1/4 lag bolt. The lag is VERY close.

    Thanks, VOH

Does my question make sense? looks like a lot of looking, but no one has chimed in yet.

  3. GM used those for many years. Look at Tri Five parts dealers. They should offer a sack full. Lots of time a clip nut was used also.

This might have what you need........pictures don't show all of the small parts though:(

Studes used that style of fastener into the 50's and 60's, can't remember the thread count but you might check Fastenal or a like store for them.

If you dont mind the bolts not having a square head then those lag bolts will work. I put together my 55 with lag bolts from tractor supply. Think they was $2 a pound.

The threads are too rough for steel. They look like wood screws..

That's what I was thinkin too, Maybe someone put that screw in there when apart before? I think I would check with other guys who own old Chevys or that classic Chevy place mentioned by someone above.
