Im building a 1960 Ford Starliner mild Kustom for my wife. It is a very cool car, the 292 was removed before we bought it and it was replaced with an Ford inline six 223 motor with a 3 speed transmission. The goal is to have the paint and upholstery completed by mid summer. One thing I am looking for is a straight or NOS passenger side taillight bezel. 20210504_110723.jpg 20210504_110633.jpg 20210116_174344.jpg

Thanks, getting ready to detail the motor and engine compartment. Looking for the correct clips for the stainless mouldings/trim, anyone know of who carries them? 20210504_110718.jpeg 20210504_112753.jpeg

Damn near a custom right from the factory!

  18. Ditto! They’re one of my favorite “late models”.

  19. Ford used 20 different screws/clips for retaining the side trim and not all of them are currently available. But the important 'special' ones for the upper fender/door/quarter trim are available from Dennis Carpenter at $2-3 each.

They have started reproducing some of the trim; all of the side trim from the doors back is available on special order, and everything BUT the taillight trim at the back. Quality is excellent, but the prices will take your breath away... Both Dennis Carpenter and Auto Krafters can order that for you.

Strangely, none of the front fender/grill trim is being reproduced so far other than some scripts/emblems. Some used/NOS trim does turn up on eBay, expect to pay about $100+ for each piece.

The taillight trim is tough to find, watch eBay daily, they do come up every once in a while. Expect to pay between $50 (fair used) and $200 (NOS) when one appears.

I'm working on a '60 Sunliner that most of the trim looks like they beat something to death with it before installing it on the car... Good luck with your Starliner!

I always liked 'em, but fellow Ford fanatics found Failure from...Ford's 'traditional' Round Taillight lenses.

I bought a new 1961 Starliner, loved it. An older guy, "Moat" had a '60, lavender, dropped 4" all around...(looked like the pic above) We'd all swoon when he cruised by, it looked like a full kustom.

As far as the trim clips. When I was finishing my 1962 Mercury Monterey, I found the majority of the body / trim clips at my local Auto Value. The trick is to find someone in the store that handles commercial accounts for body shops, not the 17 year old parts monkey that if he can't find it on the computer, then it doesn't exist.

Keep up the Good Work, '60 Starliner's are one of my bucket-list car.

I especially like the metallic lavender in the rendering.

It's strange how the factories worked. They took the beautiful '57, make an uglier '58 and then topped it of with the '59. Did the same with the beautiful '60 Starliner -- it didn't get better looking in the following years.

Thank you for the information. I have all new or restored stainless for the car. I do have all my old pieces which are in decent used condition for sale or trade.
