Art & Inspiration RANCH WAGON GET'S A LITTLE LOVE

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, May 3, 2021.

  1. I was talking with couple of guys when Brenda summoned me over to the wagon, I assumed someone had ask a question that she wasn't sure of the answer but it was to inform me her wagon had received a Rep/Safety pick.

Then handed me a piece of paper to fill out and where to report Sunday morning.

Brenda was tickled to receive the award, especially when there were so many other nice cars that could have been picked. HRP

Congratulations HRP and Brenda! It is a "Nice" car and deserves recognition. I was at a Nats south in about 83, it was at a beautiful park in I think Winston-Salem NC, I had my 36 Willys sedan for that.

  5. Congratulations. Many make fun of awards but it's always nice to have an acknowledgement of one's work. :)

  12. Forgive me for asking, but what's a "rep/safety pick"?

I was hoping someone would ask.

  15. The NSRA has a program where they have a group of guys from different States that volunteers to do a safety inspection if a participant want's it, a second set of eyes so to speak.

I usually takes a few minutes and they have a check list, I helped back in the 80's and most of the time everything is fine but we found a nut completely missing on a tie rod end and the guy had driven his car from Virginia, that was uncommon and scary at the same time.

Anyway, the safety inspectors from different States get together and pick one of the cars or trucks they checked out to receive their award. HRP

Like someone else said , we don't usually build them with awards as a goal but when you randomly win one it says that you're doing something right and someone noticed. Very cool, congrats Lady HRP!!

I really like the idea of a second set of eyes. Do all the volunteer inspectors look at each car? In which case it's more than just one second set of eyes. Or maybe they split up?
Congratulations on the award. Nice to know that your car is not only liked, but also safe.
Danny and Brenda, the wagon really is very nicely done.

Congrats..that's a pretty big deal. I've probably tried a dozen times, with several cars, to pass an NSRA 23 Safety inspection...never passed. That award is quite an accomplishment.

  23. They usually have a designated area in the past but it seems that they just roam around and ask if the participant want's the service.

The safety inspector that checked the wagon was from West Virginia, but South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee inspectors are usually there, BTW the service is free. HRP

  26. Locally we go to the car for safety reasons. Lots of times there is no place to set up a Safety check area. As far as your car I’d pick it easily. Again a lot of time we have to hunt the car to pick. Just my opinion. DFW are Sachse Rod Shop always offers us a garage spot to do the inspections.
