Art & Inspiration T Bird thread...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rustydusty, May 1, 2021.

  1. I tried the search feature and couldn't find a thread for T Birds. I'm interested in seeing how many hambers have or have had one. I will start with my '63 hardtop. 20210423_110751.jpg

  3. That's what I'm talking about. I'm on the fence about putting the fender skirts on mine. Kinda like it without them...

I had a 64 tbird. Black with red leather interior. Was broke after getting married and needed a new heating system so I sold it. I have regretted it ever since.

Went to see this one yesterday and hope to buy it.
Best part was getting it running and take the daughter(current owner) for her first ride in many years in her Dad's old car!
We even watched the odometer roll over to 70,000 which tickled her to no end! She was whooping with joy now and then! I told her to keep it but she seems determined to sell. I'll check back in a few days to see if she's gonna keep it or not.:) Garage kept, with a cover, most of last 30 years. Not rotting but definitely sitting.;):D
Definitely a good day whether I get the car or not. She was so happy to be riding in it with the top off!:)
I'll confess that I liked riding with the top off, too.;):D

  6. I love the "bullet birds", but the first gen T Bird was the best looking by far. I hope you can get it before she sells it to someone else...

I have a 55, which has been in the family for 50 years. I don't like skirts or continental kits. I don't like gassers or wild customs either. I do appreciate bringing the nose down and leveling the car, eliminating some of that space between the front tires and wheel wells. A nice set of wheels and tires improve the look of most vehicles.

CarlineBean look a like bird an all.jpg
I loved Thunderbirds, first three 55,56,57. but 58 model looked to me like a box for shipping a car in!
My first hot rod build in the late 1950s,I lucked out big,by having a low miles Thunderbird 292Y- V8 given to me,as power for my 1928A Bobtailed roadster. Still have an drive it!
In Sr.Highschool 1962 ,I dated a pretty blond girl ,who's Daddy had given her a nice used ,white 57 Bird with pink* inside's,ya the movie was 56 bird, but all I see is the very pretty Carline Bean an her Bird every time = shocker .
Many years later, along came a super movie "AG",in that movie is a clip of a pretty girl driving a white Thunderbird.
I nearly fell out of my seat in the movie! Both the girl an the car are dead-ringer/dubbelganger for Carline Bean an her 57 Bird.
