I went back to the once-a-month flea market held at an antique store in a small town near me and bought the Bear tire runout gage pictured below, for $5.00 from the same gentleman that I bought the Eelco flathead manifold (post #14) from last month. I also found a nice Utica made pair of needle nose pliers from another vendor for $3.00.

My newly acquired 32 sedan delivery has the battery in a steel box sunken in the floor under the passenger seat. That box takes up a lot of room when routing tailpipes. I would like to remove that box to free up room under the car. I went on the hunt for a battery that would fit on the floor of the delivery behind the passenger seat and found this battery that measures only 5" across and is 9 3/8" long and is 8 3/4" deep. Most batteries are more like 7" across. It also has 500 CCA versus the small sealed batteries some of my pals are using that have more like 300 CCA. This battery is an Advance 51R-2 and comes with 3 year free full replacement. It is not as small nor can be mounted in any position like the sealed batteries but it is normally available at any parts store; which is a good thing versus having a battery failure away from home and can't find a matching sealed battery.
I believe this will solve my problem and thought I'd share it with y'all in case somebody else was a bit short on space for a battery in one dimension.

 

Got this dash with 40 standard gauges... suspect it's originally from some sort of military vehicle...not mint but I like it...

First swap meet around here for over a year happened this morning in Vancouver, Wa.!! I was excited to go see it, and seems so was everybody else! Turn out for vendors was so large they overflowed the parking lot venue, and set up up and down area streets selling!
It was packed with people when I arrived at 7:00a.m, which was early in the past, but late this morning! Huge crowd, and everyone seemed pretty happy to be there. I only bought a skull shift knob for $5, but had a lot of fun visiting friends I hadn't seen in over a year!

Picked up a front and rear fender for my model a in Tulare at the swap meet.

 

Registered my car at a local show, renewed my club membership with the "Kent Island Cruisers" and ordered some "Rain X" window conditioner...

 

Today 5-1-2021 Tulare swap-o-rama. great time seein friends and gettin out. Even better buyin stuff.

 

Went junkyarding today picked the wiring harness for the changing starting and ignition also got a state and a dizzy. Don't know if this will my permanent setup but it gives me an idea where everything needs to go

not today but at jefferson i got a complete 58 olds tri power setup with all the linkage and they are even the correct carbs for about half the usual price! score!! last week i tore down the carbs and got them all freed up and rough cleaned. will need a good soak and rebuild kits but all else looked good

Scored a complete '54 grille today for $400 from HAMB member PaddycakeFTW! Thanks Eric - you rock! It's in excellent condition with only very minor flaws that really can't be seen. The entire grille has obviously been recently chrome plated except for the bullet (which doesn't need it) and one of the end pieces is a little dull. But other than that it's almost perfect! Cost in my area to chrome plate a '54 grille.......$1000 for a single layer of copper/nickel/chrome or $2000 for show quality chrome! This piece is exactly what I needed!

 

Not so much hot rod, but more custom.

Bought and paid for, just have to pick up. A whole bunch of parts for different projects.

 

Picked up a NOS pair of 1951 license plates for my club coupe, $25

 

I am absolutely amazed that the taillights are still in that car.

As for myself, all I bought were three beers while watching the Twins aniliate the Royals (a very rare occurrence) at the local bar; (I was driving my '51 Ford though).
