  2. Tom Hrudka told me that there was a third partner in the Mr. Gasket company in the beginning. At the end of the first year in business they had only earned $ 25.00 per week, each. the third partner sold his share to Joe Hrudka. Mr. Gasket went public, and Joe and Tom became millionaires.

KS Pittman and John Edwards might have been involved in it too

I think every 1940 and 1941 Willys Coupe ended up on the drag strip.

A few original Coupes have been found but not many. There were many 37-39 Coupes on the drag strip too. Especially after the 41 fiberglass front ends came out. If you look at the windshield wiper hole position on many of the cars with a 41 front end they are above the windshield which tells you that the car is a 37-40

I remember seeing this run as a gasser at Dragway 42 . They would pull the front fenders and run altered class. Virgel Cates . FB_IMG_1619821949985.jpg

  11. I saw Pittman and Edwards race at Connecticut Drag-way in 1961, or 1962.

TDR33willys.jpg Now that the famous, the infamous, and the historically significant Willys cars have been posted I think it is time to post a couple pics of my humble offering - a steel bodied '33 (actually a '36) coupe I built between 1980 and '89. It was originally a six-powered car I found on the east coast but I do not know its history. It was a rather crude affair when I acquired it. I built a new tube chassis for it and kept a Ford six. It gets raced and streeted. Enjoy

  14. I know where you found your Willys coupe. At my house.
