It may have already been posted but I see where Mark Kirby of Motor City Flathead's fame has passed away.
That's too bad. I know he had been having health issues for some time. His knowledge of flatheads was extensive. RIP
A sad day indeed as Mark was a good friend.I hadn't heard from him in quite some time and wondered what was happening. Rest in peace amigo.
Didn't know the man but I did know his reputation as a flathead guy. Wasn't he the fellow that introduced the "French" block to the masses?
Really sad to learn this. I first met Mark over 20 years when I purchased one of his engines, enjoyed a couple of visits over the years, rode in his "new" '53 on it's first run with his aluminum flathead, and last spent quality time with Mark and Phil Goller at the '19 Kalamazoo Nat's North. RIP Mark.
Mark was fine man and a legend in his own time. Bought his heads in 1999 and drove from FL just to meet him and see his shop. Couldn't ask for a finer person. So sad. God Bless him and his family.
