Hot Rods 427

This picture looks very familiar.... It's the same picture on the cover of "How to hotrod big block chevys"...

 

Jay Leno did an episode of it. The guy did it up to be like if Ford did a NASCAR version of it

 

MISTER 427- Ray Paquet, Thunderbolt racer supreme, 29 Indy wins, still whompin' and a whumpin' with his SS/A and B legal 427 High Riser, as good as 8.42@159, and well over 9000 rpm. Father of the Dove PIE High Riser heads (I have two sets, they are- "special"), still builds his own engines and rows the 4spd at around 75 years of age. Baddest class legal FE on the planet, and a true gentleman

 

This one is kind of special....not many like it built.

 

With the carbs set up like this, wouldn't the gasoline go to one side and cause a bog?

Thanks. Quite the mix of carb parts, I didn't think think there was four of those old float bowls in existence.

 

I have had my grubby hands on a few.

 

That really fills up an engine compartment!

 

Sure miss the days of scoping out fender emblems on the road, and the occasional 427 Turbo Jet sending shivers down the spine.

 

I have one in my garage 427 big block chevy since 1971.
