Are you only using the 3 hole mounting point in the back of the pedal assembly or will you be also using the diagonal mounting points? I have the same pedal assembly and hadn’t thought about only using the rear mounting points. Will that be sturdy enough? Have you done it before? Or do you have yet to make a diagonal mounting surface? Thanks

At this point we're just using the original three, the next time we have the engine/trans back in the car we will install the clutch and see how everything feels.

Sorry guys its been a minute since our last post, I promise we haven't been slackin', we spent most of our spare time this year building a cabin on my family's property. Picking up where we left off, finished the trans cross member we still have to weld in the verticals and we decided to throw 4 bolts in there too just for peace of mind. Really like the way it turned out.

After seeing how much the radius rod mounts flexed under load we decided to make some gussets in lieu of boxing a section of the frame.

After bolting everything back together and hooking up the clutch it was evident the three bolts at the crossmember were not going to be enough to keep the pedals in check. They moved about an 1/8" when operating the clutch so we made a bracket out of 1/4" plate that picked up the bottom two holes of the pedal bracket and bolted to the frame and crossmember.

The new half "k" member did the trick, no pedal movement. We currently have a 39' clutch arm but the geometry of it doesn't quite fit with the set-up, what we really need is the 33'-34' arm, it works as is but puts a lot of stress on the clutch shaft before rotating the arm. We're also dealing with an 11" clutch so there's a bit more clutch pressure than most.

Ended up boxing the rear of the frame where we stepped it, 1/8" plate cut to fit inside the frame.

F1 front shock mounts cut and located using the two front crossmember rivet holes.

Also picked up a mill/lathe combo, not very often a piece of machinery like this is seen coming through the woods.

Got the fan mount generator fitted, we machined off the front and rear mounts that originally mounted this gen, not sure what it came off of.

Looking good .. let me know when that yard sale is :D

  17. On your steering box and flange...Unless I'm looking at it wrong, if you weld the flange where it sits, you won't be able to remove the box if repairs are needed. What am I missing....

It's not pictured but it's a sandwich flange, there's one on the inside of the frame that gets welded to the snout and the outside is a stainless piece that sandwiches the frame.
