long time no see - it looks like the Model A Phaeton highboy is finally coming together thanks to Ben Thomas at Rancho Deluxe! He took it on late last year, and has been steadily chipping away at it ever since - it's finally starting to look like something!
Ben has spent a lot of time working on the body, it's looking nice enough I'm considering actual shiny paint instead of my usual brush paint job, but we're still on the hunt for a passenger-side rear door that's a bit less thrashed. It's meant to be a second cousin to Jake's tub, still my favorite hot rod ever.

  2. The coolest open car body in my opinion. Looks like you already moved the center divider back for more leg room? A must. We built one years ago for a customer.

new photos - all the floorboards have been cut and varnished, Ben is building a gas tank to fit behind the rear seat, and the 327 is starting to get its makeover. 64029531932__D4DEFBEF-1D27-437F-A6C0-0A3A87213DB4.jpeg 64029538962__8DA176B9-557E-4BF6-BBA1-ABB8053DA833.jpeg IMG_7810.jpeg IMG_7811.jpeg IMG_7809.jpeg

found a decent driver side rear door, thanks to instagram. Now, who has the passenger side rear door to match? IMG_8568.JPG IMG_8570.JPG

I haven't updated this in a while! The chassis is all assembled now! The dark green color on the frame will be the body color, possibly with black around the belt line. Ben has done an incredible job, much better than I ever could! Excited to be driving it to the Roundup soon! IMG_8038.jpeg IMG_8038.jpeg IMG_8044.jpeg IMG_8047.jpeg IMG_8049.jpeg IMG_8050.jpeg

Holy shit! Body back on the chassis! It's a drag that the Roundup got cancelled, but now we'll have time to finish the paint and hopefully the upholstery before Roundup 2022 in April! So stoked! Ben has done an amazing job on this one, so much better than I ever could've done. I'm proud and excited to finally get to drive the hot rod I've had in my head for almost 20 years now!

Looks great, what paint did you use on the frame, is it a standard color?
