Here's a mid-century industrial style chair & desk. The desk was from a local prison & the chair was in my parent's basement from at least the 1960's. I remember reading that the chair actually had a name to it, which I forgot, as well as the designer. I did my best on Google, but no dice. Does anyone recognize it? It's so sturdy that my father always used it to paint the walls & ceilings.
Just scored a Barcelona Chair, I'm guessing this one is from the late 60's-70's. No rust on the frame. Going to replace the straps soon. Sent from my SM-A102U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Been having kind of a mid-mod month here at home. Went to a barn sale, looking for some treasures. Found a Mersman guitar pick table for my daughter’s apartment, and a Samson metal folding chair, which is probably destined for the wife’s garden. Cleaning up an old dump site in our woods, and found the Star Glow dinner plate.
Found this piece at a local resale shop. Smaller sized Hoosier style hutch or maybe a medical cabinet. Built by Hamilton, designed by Donald Deskey. Still has the original keys with it. Don’t have a place for it in the house, so it’s available if someone is interested.
Not truly midcentury as I've built them in the last couple of years, but my TV console and coffee table set are heavily midcentury inspired. Designed and built by me in my 1.5-car garage. Working on the bedroom now.
I saved this one from a Goodwill a few years ago. Took quite a bit of work to make it look nice again.
From the late sixties. Made as a house warming gift to my parents. Cleaned it up and restored it recently and hung it in our living room. The rest of the furnishings are mid century style but not vintage. Sent from my SM-G965U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Very interesting Barcelona chair. I can't believe it's from the '60s and '70s. Very similar to the garden set chairs I purchased at https://www.gardenfurniture.co.uk. Only there are aluminum uprights. You talk about rust, is your chair, not aluminum or just a coating on it? If so, it is very well kept for its age. A friend of mine said his dad had something similar in the house. Isn't that an indoor chair? You don't expect to sell it after the restoration? It would look great in my living room.
The white sofa, loveseat and chair are modern pieces that look vintage that I bought 20 years ago. The gold Metalflake chair, lane boomerang coffee table, lamps, and acrylic grandfather clock are legit 1960’s pieces
I forgot all about this thread! We’ve had a bunch of additions but here’s one of the cooler ones. It was black when we found it, and I painted it Hemi orange with some slight Chevy orange fogging around the edge and seams.
It’s not really furniture unless you count the chairs in the picture…but I also redid our entry. The door is new but fits the look. The railing came from an older house in Ft Worth. I cut it down some and made new posts for the porch.
Seats from the original Charlotte Coliseum, opened in 1955. In 2015 they replaced them with red plastic.
My wife and I found this earlier this year…. The top folds out onto these pullout supports, makes an awesome bar. I think it’s Mid-Century!
Our 1955 Chromcraft black & brass dining set, in the family since new. Was a little worn so we had all the black powder coated and the brass chromed, formica in great shape. Used every day.
I designed n built my own,for first house in 1964. This pic,in back ground shows a chair, one of a matching pair w/ a couch. Part of my design was,all the legs matched, fat at top{ 3in.,then 1in at bottom },even round top table were sitting at. I'm #3 going to the right. As best I can remeber, this was a new years party for 1966/67 with our group. First guy on the left ;; Fred Kebler< he owned a 39 Packard Coupe, in center is Rob Bean<he owned 57 Chevy Convert, Then me,I had a 57 Ford 2d Wagon an my 28A. Others not in this pic,Pet Kosh, Steve Reep and Frank DeMar. We had wife by this time, but all still partyed together for years. My home made furniture lasted about 10 years, befor wife wanted some new stuff .
