Wompin Wagon out of Mobile Ala. Racing since the 60s, Owner Bubba Cummins and crewman Pete Pearce
both passed last year. Driver Randy Griffis just passed last month. Not sure what will happen with car now, but know
that Bubba wanted the car to continue to run after his passing. Car runs with Southern Outlaw Gassers.

Back in the 70's I bought a BW 4 speed from a guy in Ankeny Iowa. He too had a 38 Chevy coupe, nose high, very nicely built car that he raced, he had "Mr Barabee" (sp??) in big letters on the side, I asked the significance and it was something about a college course??? wish I remembered more. The guy would probably be in his late 70's now, I wonder what happened to him, nice guy...nice car.

  19. I was initially calling my 55 "Glory Stomper" after seeing the shitty biker movie called The Glory Stompers. I had it all lettered (In vinyl in case I ended up just not feeling it, which turned out to be the case).

But my dad's nickname was "Wimpy" based off the Popeye character. He put in a lot of time helping me work on my car. He was a machinist almost his whole working life. He died in 2015. We used to talk about having a speed shop and how cool it would be, so I came up with "Wimpy's Speed & Machine" to honor his memory. So then I got to thinking "Quarter Pounder" was kinda funny and fit the Wimpy's Speed & Machine branding. I'd probably go that route were I to re-letter the car.
I also considered "Vertigo" since I get bouts of vertigo from time to time.
