Jimmy Huff’s. Wagon did the same thing when he first got his falcon running. What did he do?

My Calvert split mono leafs will be in the car by the time we get to our next race in Alabama.
Hopefully we can get it to work without any sort of traction bar and just a pinion snubber.
It was better down at Shadyside. I gained a solid 2 tenth's in my 60 foot time. Had I not missed 2 nd gear I would have been right with the Bisquick car. I actually was 2 mph faster at the finish line.
In the first round of elimination's my opponent had a solid 8 tenth's advantage on me so I took a shot at the tree and went .008 red so I just clutched it and stuck it in 4th and idled down through there.
Getting ready for Lassiter mountain on May 8th. Need to pull the axles and take them to Hudlow axle's. They are going to make me some 35 spline axles. So I need to swap out the spool to match. A lot of work under the back of the car this time. Trying to get the levitation gear out.

Did I read somewhere that it's normal for axles to twist some at the splines?

 

They twist and you put a stripe on them and watch them. Then they twist off and you are broke.
I will be upgrading to 35 spline axles . Calling Hudlow tomorrow.

 

This past weekend I had the great pleasure of meeting Mike and Cathy at Shady Side. Let me tell you They are a real class act and I'm sure with a little more time and development School's Out will become a real contender!

We just try to treat people like they are old friends when we first meet.
Got my axles and spool to Hudlow axle in Chattanooga yesterday. They assured me that I would have new parts by next week.
Got the old springs out this morning. Getting started installing the Calvert springs.
Need to go to Seatons steel for some steel plate to build some new spring pads and shock mounts.
Will be making a set of sliders to replace the shackles.

Talked to the tech guy guy at Calvert and we talked about my combo.
He threw out some suggestions and I am going to try something.

That was my first thought..

 

Will be moving the shock mounting points.
The t shirts will be ready next week. It will be $20 for the shirts and $25 for 2 xl and larger due to our extra cost.

Well I got my Calvert springs installed yesterday. Today I am going to weld in my new shock mounts.
I have to wait until I get my axles and spool back before I can install the wheels and tires to set the ride height and figure out how much spacer I am going to need to install the sliders.
I am thinking 2 inches, but it is very important with our ride height rule.

 

Got my shock mounts done today.

I have changed my work schedule so we can attend the SNDR race at Crossville on May 29. Let's see if I can run against all of those automatic super stocks on a full tree.

Problem solved

 

I thought about a big peace sign on the rear end that would be 60's style. I looked at that yesterday, but the bunny hopping sign would be funny. I could draw my Dancing Rabbit like I had on my Morris.

 

Dancing rabbit beats a peace sign any day!
