New Girl with a Traditionalist Mindset

Discussion in 'New to the H.A.M.B.? Introduce yourself here!' started by Stauros 'Star' Gibson, Apr 13, 2021.

  1. Hello All,

    My name is Star!

One of my friends was in a pinch after the first of the year and helped him out by buying his 1966 Chevy long bed pickup for $900. Her parts rigs were a 1961, 1964 and 1965 pickups. It runs and drives. My kids absolutely love it. Got a bench seat to put in and a new fuel tank is getting put in this weekend. Doing both of those at the same time.

Then here is where I found out that as a mom of twins I couldn't just have one classic truck. I'll need two of everything! I haven't seen my kids smile so much as when we cruise down main street in the '66.

One of my friends parents decided to sell me their 1957 Dodge Sweptside D100. I paid $2500 for it, without looking at it last month. I don't know anything about it and just had a look inside of it today. Here is the video I posted on youtube where I plan on chronicling my adventures. 1957 Dodge D100 Sweptside Speed Push Button Automatic - YouTube

I'm open to all and any help.

Hi. Liked your video. Looks pretty good. Floor boards look good and the mess under the dash is not too bad for something 64 years old. The oil pan is clean & shiny and that could indicate some work done there in recent years.
Get it running and go thru the brakes and wiring and drive the heck out of it while you finish the rest. In the video you say you found a replacement bench seat. A parts source I have used for replacement items with good success is www.kanter.com and they have car and truck items for the old Dodge/Plymouths as well as for many others models. Log onto their website and at the top of page is a catalog request.
Always like those old dodge trucks but never had one that old. My first of those was a 76 followed by a 99. Do a build thread on it with lots of photo's.
    Good luck, Jimmie
