Thanks for the Reply. I am lucky enough to have a friend, GMC Bubba here on the HAMB who has and knows how to use the old dist machines. He set it up for me. I am not looking at racing or anything I just love the look. I have wondered about longevity of the unit on the road. I am going to install it before leaving for Florida. I am going to take my whole current ignition system as a spare. I will let you know how it goes when I get back.

Thanks again, and welcome to the HAMB.

    Hey from Mr Haney,

I aint Mcgee but I run a Spalding in my 63 pontiac 389 mill. The engine is 10-1, gotta big old long duration solid cam, Drawback had to shell out the cash for two msd boxes. Put my rev chip in one and it bounces off the left side when I run it up. Even with my six carb x-2 set up the plugs burn nice.

    Diggin it, Later Russ

Steve McGee always had some of the finest cars in the state. His 1940 Coupe was so far ahead of the time in 1963-64.This was his 1933 Willys at the 1972 Portland Or. Roadster Show..........Z.D.

This is from the 1963 Portland Roadster Show program. The 40 Ford of Steve McGee placed 3rd in the Comp.Rod Coupe & Sedan class. The write up lists the Spalding ignition that this ? is about.......

Bought my 3rd one last year, followed Bubba's advice to the letter and dialed it on in a Sun machine, 311 Chevy winds up without a miss. I dig the rarity factor but the simple engineering and adjustability of the top cam makes it a favorite. Unknown.jpeg
