Eddie Hill?

 

Yes, that’s Hill. It’s been said this car tore up the starting line asphalt at the 1961 Indy Nationals but I never saw a picture to confirm that.

 

Hill's twin actually spun its four slicks hard enough to melt holes on the starting line at the 1963 U.S. Nationals.

Bill Crossley's name on the cowl. Later it was Crossley, Williams and Swan when they won the 1964 Winter-nationals. I was a gofer for them when they came to Connecticut Drag-way. I lined them up with City Auto Parts in Hartford where they bought 6, 392 Chrysler short blocks for $ 58.00 each, then they took me to lunch, and Jack Williams ordered Lima beans as a side dish.
