I am having a hard time deciding if i should install a bumper or just a front chrome spreader. When i bought the car it had the towing shackles. I like the look of the chrome spreader.
But don't like the lack of any protection for the car . This car will have full fenders.
It is my first hotrod and i have never driven a car like this. So before i make i choice i like to get some input. IMG_4198.jpg 63832110725__3304581D-1287-4341-8FCB-3987217A9B05.jpeg IMG_3130.jpeg

The front bumper on my A pickup saved the front end when I hit a small deer, so they do make a difference. Just flexed the center emblem out of the bumper, no other damage.

I'm not planning a front bumper on my own '30 Coupe with fenders, but that's just one more personal taste deal.

I have to ask though...the paint cleaned and polished up THAT nice??!! Looks really good all gussied up.

I repainted the car . I still have to spray more clear and buff it out.

If i install a 32 bumper on a 30 frame do i have to make my own brackets to bolt up to the 32 bumper?

Repainted...already? It's looking great. Didn't you just recently get the car? You must work a lot faster than I do.

I did state in my build thread that i bought this car a few years ago and I should have started my build thread when i started. Trust me this has been a lot of work. And a lot of time. It took about two years of spare time to get to this point.

Model A bumpers are nice too. Hooray for fenders! Good choice. Neat car with a great story.

    Do what you want.
I prefer rear bumpers, but not front bumpers.

Model As with fenders need bumpers but I disagree with using 32s . It's been overdone so much it's almost"street-roddy". I prefer stainless '30/31s but it is your car.

  20. Use a piece of Wood & mount it on the Bumper Bracket's
just imagine what you can do with a Good piece of wood piece
make designes on it or your Name on it or your Favaroite Expresion.

    Just my 3.5 cents

Bumpers will not stop a major collision but they will help and for minor collisions they may well prevent damage. I'm torn on a 30 vs. a 32 bumper myself. Never liked 30 rear bumpers so 32 front and rear may be the choice. Like said above its your ride, I wish there were more images online of Model A's with "other bumpers". 33 bumpers have been calling me too... 3C6318BA-BD3A-4A8C-8CF1-BDAE12BD2976.jpeg

Here’s an example of nerf bar type bumpers that would fit the era of your car.

Personally I don't like the looks of Model A bumpers, and using 32's makes it look like you are wishing it was a 32. I don't have bumpers on my 29 Coupe. My vote is no bumpers of any kind. A chrome spreader bar is fine.

  25. If you are going to run a Deuce shell on your Model A why not use a Deuce bumper, who cares what other people think,

you can always use something like this. HRP

With what’s driving out on our roads today I would not have a car without bumpers. I know it’s a personal choice and like one above stated.... “drive accordingly”

Just my opinion but with fenders gotta have bumpers. Go with the stock bumpers. Your car though, your choice.
