One of my brother's trucks on our first trip to Bonneville. My brother and I, (MO JUNK) have owned and built several of these. The one I drive, I have owned for nearly 30 years. I plan to give it a major rebuild this winter.. Cropped truck.jpeg

I drove this one daily to college. Sold it and have regretted it ever since.

So I recently bought this one which is waiting it's turn at @thunderbirdesq shop for a make over. Plan is a daily driver/work truck. Last pic is an artist rendition I had made though the color changes daily.

Thought I'd bring this back to the top. I bought a '51 Ford F1 last summer and now I have a chance to buy a '51 Chevy 3100 with the five window cab. A restoration got 3/4 finished. (body/paint all finished along with, frame, bed wood, glass seals, etc) before the owner passed. It still needs some wiring and minor engine work to be ready to run, not sure about brakes, clutch, etc. I think it can be bought for under $10k.
I'm more of a Ford guy than a Chevy guy but I do love these Advance Design Chevys. Let's see some more pics.

@Oldstrk @rusty1 How are you getting that perfect stance? Not too high, not too low, just right! Feel free to PM me if it's not HAMB friendly components.

It's got a M2 front end with 2 inch drop, 245/40/17 up front and 245/50/17 in rear with leaf springs no lowering blocks

I love these trucks! I'm trying to find one but, around here, they are either priced out of my league or basket cases. And when a decent one pops up at a decent price it's like dropping a piece of meat into a pool of piranhas .

Yeah, I should really buy this '51 but I'm on the fence because the last thing I need is another project! It does have a super straight solid body with real good paint, perfect glass and new bed wood installed. The doors open and shut like a new car. The bed is straight with no dings or dents. Previous owner was doing a stock restoration. I could yank the inline six, swap in a rear and front clip, slip in a sbc and be ready to roll.

Get it! If it's cheap enough you could flip it quick around here.

I wouldn't call it cheap, but very reasonable. A solid straight but non-running truck for under $10k.

Some great pics in this thread. I've always been a fan of the Rod and Custom Dream Truck before they magnatized it and ran through Pep Boys. The chop and section were absolutely perfect. If you follow the articles on the build, (which I have stashed away somewhere), they detail all the mods mostly at Valley Custom. To me, when they added the fins and stuff it was just a little much. I actually did a '54 cab and pancaked hood some years back but gave it to somebody when I never had the rest of the truck. Did look cool though!

The old turd..... .The 261 crapped out, I decided that I've had enough inlines in my life, waiting on a 350 to be delivered, going to back it up with a t-5. Then maybe get it all one color! 20200704_130519.jpeg 20200301_093704.jpeg

  28. Look's like you have a good start there, 4ever17! I have always wanted to build an AD, one day perhaps...
