At least the ferry put us under cover and Let the regulars in the open spray Up at 4.30am (to beat rush hour) wrong.Still bumper to bumper . Heading across on the ferry to the Nz pre 49 event in Christchurch ,only a 7 hr drive but the ferry adds 4 1/2 hrs to that. A rainy dark fall drive. Awesome road trip so far . A few hours ahead of us yet. Sure bets staying at home for Easter.
Hell yea. Have safe fun trip. Bryan do all you can to go see Chris Leigh’s private collection. Maybe one of the best in world. I can pm or text his number to you if needed. I envy you.
I originally thought that the Lamington was an Australian idea. However my research just now shows it is a New Zealand invention!! Dang. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...-new-zealand-new-research-proves-beyond-doubt
Paul you may be wrong Lord Lamington was Qld Governor 1896-1901,they often had afternoon teas His wife Lady Lamington arranged for their French Pastry chef to make an quick and easy cake for her guests, sponge cake/chocolate coated/coconut all over the lamington is Aussie
Nope that was an April 1st joke that was disproved when that article first came out. The story is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamington
Ahhhhhapril fools eh!!... The Trip and Hotrods are the real deal though and looking fine as wine...thanks for sharing @Kiwi 4d...
I wonder whether they realize today history is repeating itself [april 1st] Do you get Raspberry Lamingtons in Oz?
Looks like another fine adventure. Keep posting please. Sent from my KOB-L09 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Not correct, Aussie invented the Rocky Road dessert even though New Zealand invented the Pavlova [admit it!] Happy Easter Everybody!!
I remember when Keith Urban was a kid playing in pubs around town. Of course that was after he moved here as a two year old.
Had a spot of bother yesterday as my feeble brain believed the Weather guess folk and they said no rain tonight. Huh it came in bucketfuls. Of course a vintage Mallory two part cap and cloth leads and felt under the 36 air cleaners soaked it all up. Thanks to motel hair dryers we were mobile in half an hour. A few very interesting cars here . Entry was restricted due to size of the venue but quality is definitely up . Weather today was a bit gloomy and turned to strong wind and rain, fun rides home trying to stay on the road . Today we took in a phenomenal eclectic private collection of cars bikes and planes . Fantastic was the only word to describe it. Extremely well set up .
Yes there was a bunch of Holden going south to I think Timaru . VWs going north, and Zephyr going some where.Early Ford V8 gathering in the south. Custom vans going somewhere. Wings and wheels at Lake Wanaka. . It’s all on at Easter.
The pristine eclectic collection. Scan around and see what you can find. This only part of the collection.
