Cool car, for sure. Excellent fabrication work. I enjoy all the details. Leaving some original details is a nice touch. Too many folks are quick to erase everything.
Man—I would love to sit around and listen to this car tell stories. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Kick ass job so far. You guys across the pond get a lot of respect from me for sticking with a rough project and making a nice car from it. Any time I feel down for running outta money and/or talent while building my car, I read a thread like this and I become very grateful I live where parts are available and reasonably priced. My 33/34 is my 10 year long attempt at making something I've always wanted. Proceed.
Wow!! That car landed with the right guy. It could easily have been disassembled and the pieces sold off individually. You’ve taken a once crudely built hot rod and turned it into a masterpiece of a build. The original builders would be so very proud to see how their project has been refined & saved. Wonderful display of craftsmanship & dedication.
Pete’s been slaving away so there’s a few updates nerf bars where added, slightly more refined than the original, taillights have been straightened. They where originally cut in with a drill and chisel. 2E9FE52F-C41E-491C-AA58-A9281F0B4C1D by KFC posted Mar 23, 2021 at 3:49 PM 52C25C03-8D69-43CA-92C6-DCA91A801E22 by KFC posted Mar 23, 2021 at 3:49 PM then we moved on to a roll bar, this will make it legal to 110 on pendine sands but it had to look as period as possible EF2C086E-FECD-477E-ACFB-5D0CB938B528 by KFC posted Mar 23, 2021 at 3:49 PM 46F9CF8B-29A7-4EF3-BC1C-D36BB738075F by KFC posted Mar 23, 2021 at 3:49 PM 46D0CA77-80CE-4DB3-AD60-A55B262F233E by KFC posted Mar 23, 2021 at 3:49 PM 8D2A4A8E-D50D-4AD9-8D5E-43FA464A2975 by KFC posted Mar 23, 2021 at 3:49 PM next step was get the sectioned grill and bonnet (hood) fitting, it’s now chromed so taped up safely The hood needed trimming to fit over the carb set up. The grill shell is supported on a frame as we will be running the radiator set back behind the front crossmember, partly for space partly so the grill shell is empty. 8CDEC017-CAC7-4668-8D6D-5A5B3FDE6262 by KFC posted Mar 23, 2021 at 3:50 PM E9613B3C-EF0A-48D5-B61A-31C70026B5B0 by KFC posted Mar 23, 2021 at 3:50 PM B646AC53-85FB-4497-918F-6704044ACF7F by KFC posted Mar 23, 2021 at 3:50 PM B4C4DD8E-F139-42E6-9E48-E4195DDC0D10 by KFC posted Mar 23, 2021 at 3:50 PM F2857AAA-67CF-4EC5-AB14-91DA717E7E44 by KFC posted Mar 23, 2021 at 3:50 PM D59C2663-CA47-448B-B029-DFC497188991 by KFC posted Mar 23, 2021 at 3:50 PM Headlight and shock mounts are next

Excellent metalwork, I especially like the extra efforts used in keeping some of the original bits intact, even when it'd be easier to change them. I understand that some things obviously needed to be changed in order for the car to be safe and to be able to be raced. My only question is, why the large engine setback? Was that the only way to clear the hood, or is that another restriction put in place by the race sanctioning body? Looks like in the original build the engine was much further forward and at least some of the original firewall was intact. Not complaining, just curious to know why that change was made. I really do like the car. Glad to see it made whole again and able to race as it originally was intended.
The engine was along way forward before and the car just ran a small rad on the front crossmember, you couldn’t have run a grill shell and hood and a rad that would be suitable for the road in that configuration. It did come with a 32 grill shell which I suspect was someone’s plan to solve that. And I really wanted a big engine set back, which just made a load of work
Looks like this car has always been treated to the best that the owner could muster. The current owner is sure up to the mustard. It shook me a bit when you cut into that grille, but like the rest of it, turned out great. I’m in on that pairing with the Omaha coupe, very inspiring work!
Its a great find and your going the right way with it. The chop looks to be very similar to my 3window.
Very nice work! I agree with everything you done accept the hoop sticking out the roof. But it is your car not mine
