You might want to rethink doing that if you ever plan to run the car on the street because the turning will be tough. Read up on the Ackerman principle.

If those Moons are genuinely striped by Dutch, they may be worth a small fortune...

Thank you corn fed I will probably have to re think that steering for the street and switch it around back. Thank you for the schooling. I did read up on that and you are correct it will steer like shit on the street. I am still learning things. Hey any period correct ideas for a 4 or 5 speed transmission ?? I'm running a drag style bell housing and clutch. Looking for something with an extra long input shaft like as long as I can get. Because I have to run a belt pulley between clutch and the trans. Or I have to run a pulley off the crank before the flywheel with a home made shaft. I know it sounds crazy but I have seen some crazy shit people built back in the day. I think I'm just as crazy in the head as them. But anyway I know what I'm in for building this thing and it will not be easy.

I love rusty old shit using this rear for a mock up. I donot have 3000,00$ for a quick change rear right now so I will use this for mock up then change it out later but this will get me going in the right direction. 20160718_190606.jpeg 20160718_190612.jpeg 20160718_190618.jpeg 20160718_190636.jpeg 20210130_142944_HDR.jpeg 20210130_142950_HDR.jpeg 20210130_142959_HDR.jpeg 20210130_143430_HDR.jpeg 20210130_143512_HDR.jpeg

Using a V8 quickchange would be neat, but I doubt one would be strong enough for what your building. You need a 50's Olds rear under there. That would handle it and be spot on traditional.

A Champ would do it - they're rated for somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 hp...

So here are some quick tips for anyone who may be interested in polishing some hard to reach places the first picture you can see the rough casting that polish gets stuck in and stays black it never really shines up too good it always looks unfinished. So here is what I do on Amazon I bought this polish kit for dremel I start with the cork grit tip and grind smooth then move to a green tip to smooth out scratches. Then a wool tip with compound then Mothers with the wool polishing head then hand rub to shine even if its not perfect it really makes a difference in the over all shine. A bit time consuming but it looks so much better. 20210228_172250_HDR.jpeg 20210228_172341_HDR.jpeg 20210228_172645_HDR.jpeg 20210228_173054_HDR.jpeg 20210228_173316_HDR.jpeg 20210228_173653_HDR.jpeg 20210228_174337_HDR.jpeg 20210228_181328_HDR.jpeg 20210228_181343_HDR.jpeg

Tonight I'm taking out the window regulator and latch was able to break free the window and roll it up and down with a vice grip both sides and the rear window work up and down latches are completely stuck. I used 1/8 inch drill bit in the center of the flat head screw drilled it about half way then put on a 3/8 drill bit and drilled out the head till it spins off I do it this way do I do not damage counter sink. I ordered speed way door striker plates and guides. I'm going to rebuild the latches and regulators because everything for a 32 ford coupe is expensive. Going to throw them in the blaster they will clean right up 20210304_173032_HDR.jpeg 20210304_173045.jpeg 20210304_173106_HDR.jpeg 20210304_173058_HDR.jpeg 20210304_174504_HDR.jpeg 20210304_174455_HDR.jpeg Image%20(4).jpeg Image%20(5).jpeg

I extended the subrail on the left side today and squared up the fire wall post I put in a screw on the fire wall band so I can remove it so I can sand blast behind it. Next I will be able to weld the patch panel in. 20210306_170200_HDR.jpeg 20210306_210431_HDR.jpeg 20210307_162637_HDR.jpeg 20210307_162625_HDR.jpeg 20210306_210452_HDR.jpeg 20210307_162650_HDR.jpeg

Spent a few hours getting the hinge pins out after heating them soaking them sledge hammer and broke a Snapon punch. I forgot my air hammer at work but lots of heat and brute force got the job done. I got the door off finally. Got to love the pile of rust on the floor that shook out while hammering. Oh this car is rusty very rusty. 20210307_175737_HDR.jpeg 20210307_175746_HDR.jpeg 20210307_175835_HDR.jpeg 20210307_175900_HDR.jpeg 20210307_193227_HDR.jpeg 20210307_193501_HDR.jpeg

I don't think that is a seat for an aircraft because it is stainless steel. Would be pretty heavy for an airplane. If it was made out of aluminum, yea I would say it was out of some sort of aircraft.

So the latch is real pitted and not going to work correctly so I had to weld it then grind it smooth I took apart the whole latch and sand blasted them. I purchased new springs from macs auto parts the part numbers are on the bags if you guys need them still have the other latch to do I would have just got new ones but they are 189.00$ each way too steep for me so the springs were 4.99$ each so for less than 20 bucks I will have working latches. 20210310_163748_HDR.jpeg 20210323_211157.jpeg 20210323_211330.jpeg 20210323_211349.jpeg Image%20(5).jpeg Screenshot_20210305-231740.jpeg
