I hate to not be able to upload some pics I took, but I came across a older gent who showed me a “B” motor. It has an overhead valve on it, the finned side plate says GEMSA. It has dual carbs for the intake. Motor looks like was never ran. I told the fellow I thought he might be sitting on a pile of money. I’m going to try to get pics off my phone. Let’s see how it goes
Things were tucked away and hard to get to. Hope there’s enough pic to get an idea? Trying to help the fellow out, can put someone in touch wuth him if your looking to pay a fair price
It's a " B " motor , with a " Cragar " head . Joe Gemsa made a lot of speed parts for 4 bangers , that is one of his side covers .
I couldn’t get any better pics, would it be a good motor, or run of the mill? I know nothing about this stuff.
Just last week there was a old Gemsa thread that popped up again. Someone found a compleet engine on Hawaii
I can’t speak for the fellow, but I could check with him this weekend, well, if he’s on speaking terms with his son. To be honest, if I had the funds I’d have made him an offer and bought the engine for my ‘32 Dodge PU. Some days he’s in a selling mood, other days nothing is for sale. Not even a rusty bolt. Lol
Totally understandable!! There's a 35 that is literally rotting away a few miles from where I went to college. One day I decided to go check it out, ended up getting a gun waved at me... Guess it's not for sale! But keep me updated, that engine would go great on my Gemsa frame
@Retson the Racer good luck. I think it would be cool if you could add a little more Gemsa to that frame.
I think so!! The current project is getting all this to work. The seat we're using puts the shift tower right in the family jewels!
