Very cool video! I can imagine how my welding technic would greatly improve with this camera.

I can't see for crap when welding. That thing would be fantastic.

  8. That’s simply cool, holy cow.

my thoughts are how does it hold up to welding spatter ?

I’ve had to replace my phone screen twice due to welding and forgetting it in my top pocket of my work shirt.
Yes I’m not smart most days :D

I could see a lot of control and improvement with robotic welding systems. In fact I’d bet it was created for this use specifically.
I’ve programmed and operated robotic systems since its infancy in the early 90’s. Well before they had cameras and were using 3D point to point technology.
I’d love to play with one on a helmet.
I couldn’t imagine the results with this type of view and the control it would produce.
    Cool stuff!!

    Exactly.
All you guys should be aware that this is Not a welding helmet and it is not designed as something that a welder uses to see his work while he’s welding.

Its a welding camera for studying and developing welding processes as well as monitoring automatic welding systems performance.

It’s great technology and it’s good to be able to see the way a weld is done.

Kind of neat, my thoughts pretty much exactly.
As a recently retired trade school welding instructor for the past 22 years I would love to have had access to this technology as a teaching aid.
